Should mature to around 14.2 hands. Lightnin’ is a 2-year old cutting bred stallion with a fantastic pedigree. His sire, Dually Pepped Ted, is Dual Pep bred on the top side and Smart Little Lena Bred on the bottom. His dam, Peptos Freckled Sue, is sired by Quite A Boon who has life time earnings of nearly $70,000 in the NCHA. Her grand dam, Meradas Little Sue, is a 3 time NCHA world champion, a member of the NCHA Hall of Fame, and is the 1996 NCHA Horse of the Year. Other notable horses on the bottom side of Lightnin’s pedigree include Peptoboonsmal, Freckles Playboy, and Doc Tari.
Lightnin was imprinted at birth and handled daily. He was recently started and is continually being trained. He shows tremendous improvement with every training session and is extremely trainable. Currently, lightin’ flexes well side to side and at the poll. He stops, backs, pivots fore and hind, and side passes very well. He is going to be very easy to collect and when being trained, he is asked to flex at the poll after every request to lower his energy level and begin movement in a collected way. He is eager to please and is gaining confidence with every training session.
